Help with traffic fine on bus in Copenhagen.

by Gazelle

To Whom it may concern, I'm Gazelle, currently working as an Aupair here in Denmark I'd just came last June. I would like to ask help from you guys because I was given a fine of 750DKK for using a wrong ticket. I know that ignorance can't justify the rules, but as I'm new here in your country, I really don't have any idea that I was holding a wrong ticket.I was thinking that I can use the ticket for one hour so I assume that I can still use it until it lapse. I really have no idea of Zoning rules like that, I'd just bought the ticket from the bus driver, so I have that assurance that everything is okay. I hope you'll help me with this matter, it's really not my intention to disobey the rules, and as a low earner person, please have sympathy for us. I'm only earning 3200DKK per month and I can't afford to pay the fine. PLEASE PLEASE help me. I will promise that I will ask and ask and check twice before I buy the ticket or ride to any of the public transportation. PLEASE HELP ME. THANK YOU SO MUCH! GOD BLESS AND MORE POWER. With due Respect, Gazelle

Response: Gazelle, we can do nothing to help with your fine. You can try and contact ABTM and see if they will assist you, but if you were in the wrong they will probably insist that you pay. They do have a payment plan for low earners and they may also reduce your fine - but do not count on it. Contact Movia and talk with them first and than if the answer you get is unsatisfactory, than contact ABTM. Remember if you do not contact them before your payment date you could be liable for additional late. It is all explained above or at ticket fine in Copenhagen.

It's true that you don't need the passport to cross the borders but, you do need a passport to identify your self to a police officer if they ask you.
