Which period kort should I use.?

I have a hard time in understanding the zones. I'm new in Denmark, and am planning to get a periodkort.. I'm living in Roskilde, and I usually go to Copenhagen and Holte. Can anyone please help me what periodkort should I use? thanks!

Response: Since you are traveling through 8 zones into Copenhagen and have another 3 zones to Holte, you will need an all zones periodkort, which at present costs 1260kr for 30 days. You can get for longer periods too. If you are a student you can get a discount pass too. You should stop by the ticket counter in Copenhagen main station and talk to them about other possibilities like a Flexkort (but this can be a bit complicated for someone who is new to the transport system). The 30 day pass is probably the best and easiest to use. Make sure to bring a passport size photo with you when you get your first pass.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Answer: You are starting from zone 95 and going to københavn is an all zone ticket. Like I mentioned earlier, download your zone calculator and print it off and carry it with you. When you go to the zone calculator, you click on the 95 which is the zone you are starting in. When you open the map, you will see that zone 95 is highlighted in red. Copenhagen is higlighted in grey. Look at the chart in bottom right corner and it shows that you the grey means you need an all zone klippekort, pass or ticket.

twice a month I go to Holte, and I'm using the 8 zoner card. and I clip it once according to the lady from the station. By the way, I'm in Lyndby, Roskilde. So is it right that I'm using the 8 zoner? what if from Lyndby to copenhagen? iss it 6 zones?

Not sure which zone you are starting in,think it is zone 95. Could be 47, but either way, like I mentioned earlier, use the zone calculator. Once you open the zone calculator, click on the zone that you are staring from. This will open a new map calculator for you. Now you look on that map and see where you are going, see the corresponding color and it will tell you how many zones you are in. I stand by my earlier statement that you need an all zone klippekort and not an 8 zone. With an 8 zone you will get a fine, since you are missing at least 1 or possibly 2 zones. Either way an all zone pass will cover the extra zones. You can not get from Roskilde to Copenhagen center on 6 zones - it is a 8 zone trip. Who ever told you it was 6 zones was wrong and you are heading for a 750kr fine!

not student?

And if you are not a student, so try to check your travel destination from www.rejseplanen.dk . It will count how many zone exactly do you need.

Sally,

She will need 8 zones from Roskilde, but another 2 to Holte, so an all zone card will be the best bet. Since she might be in Kirke Hyllinge, which is another zone. Roskilde is zone 8, while Kirke Hyllinge is zone 47, and depending on her route into Roskilde she may even travel via zone 95?

Rejseplanen is good, but you are better off using the zone calculator. It makes calculating your trips a breeze. you can learn more about it on zones page.

If you are a student ...
by: FYI Denmark

If you are a student and traveling to Copenhagen for education purposes, get a hypercard or uddannelseskort. You will only pay 300, per month for that card. Need to order it from this page ....www.hypercard.dk.
