Hello! I'm finding it difficult to find out details regarding the 24/72 hour Copenhagen City Pass. Hope you can help.
I know it's valid in Zones 1-4 - but does this include the "40" zones (ie, 40, 41, 42, ... all the way to 49). Specifically, would it cover as far as Klampenborg (Zone 40) from either the Airport or the City Centre (or Kobenhavn H)?
You indicated from your page the following: "If you start from Kobehavn H and travel north to Klampenborg to visit Dyrehavn, you will have started in Zone 1, gone through Zone 2, Zone 30 and gotten off in Zone 40. You have traveled in 4 zones, so you need a 4 zone ticket." I believe this statement is correct if I were to use/purchase a single ticket or a 4-zone klippekort (clipped once only, therefore, total remaining is 9 4-zone trip). What about CITY PASS Zones 1 to 4?
Thanks!
Hi Budi,
You got the information right on the klippekort. You have 10 klips/punches on each card. Depending on the type klippekort, 2 zone, 4 zone etc., each klip respects the number of zones for that card. If you klip once on a 4 zone klippekort, you can travel within 4 zones.
The city pass is only good for zones 1,2,3 and 4. Zone 40, 41, etc. are not included. Zone 1 and 2 are the main areas of Copenhagen while Zone 3 and 4 encompass Amager (which is where the airport is located). See the zone map on the zones page of FYI Denmark.
Most people do not travel much to Amager unless they are going to the airport or live and work there. The only major attraction is the beach (Amager Strandpark) and many people may go visit the new housing/shopping development in Ørestad. But normally 3 and 4 are for getting back and forth from the airport.
For the 24, 72 or 120 hour Copenhagen Cards, you can travel throughout the whole of the main region of Denmark, which is basically the whole of Copenhagen as far north as the top of Zealand, as far west as Holbæk and south to Rødvig. If you plan on doing a lot of siteseeing outside of the Copenhagen, the pass is more economical since it also includes discounts and free entrance to many attractions.
Which is better depends on your travel schedule. Copenhagen is easily accessible by foot alone, but you can get tired of walking too!
Hope that clarifys some of the mystery. There are so many different type travel cards nowadays that it can be confusing. Will be doing an update shortly.
